1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Corduroy ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.

2. What Corduroy Is

Corduroy is a trip planning tool that helps users organize ski and snowboard trips. It provides resort recommendations, budget estimates, and planning assistance based on user-provided preferences.

Corduroy is not a travel agency, booking platform, or broker. We do not sell, reserve, or guarantee lodging, lift passes, gear rentals, flights, or any other travel products. All planning outputs are for informational purposes only.

3. Price Estimates

All prices shown on Corduroy — including lodging, lift passes, gear rentals, and trip totals — are estimates only. They are not quotes, offers, or guaranteed rates.

You must verify current pricing directly with the relevant provider before making any booking or financial commitment. Corduroy is not responsible for any discrepancy between estimated and actual prices.

4. User Accounts

To save trips, you must create an account through our authentication provider (Clerk). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or misuse the Service.

5. User Content

Trip plans, preferences, and other data you enter into Corduroy remain yours. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and display that data to you and anyone you share a trip link with. We do not claim ownership of your content.

6. Intellectual Property

The Corduroy name, logo, design, and all original content on the Service are the property of Michael S. Schmitt and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without written permission.

7. Third-Party Services

Corduroy integrates with third-party services including Clerk, Supabase, Resend, Vercel, Open-Meteo, and Nominatim. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or reliability of any third-party provider.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information provided is accurate, complete, or current.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Corduroy and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, including any losses resulting from reliance on price estimates, resort recommendations, or trip plans generated by the Service.

10. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of New York.
