What we collect
When you use Corduroy, we collect the following information:
- Account information — your name and email address when you sign in via Clerk.
- Trip data — trip plans you save, including destination, dates, group size, budget, and selections for lodging, lift passes, and gear.
- Location — if you choose to share your location on the preferences page, we use it only to calculate distances to resorts. It is not stored.
- Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for debugging and abuse prevention.
How we use it
- To save and display your trip plans.
- To send you a confirmation email when you save a trip.
- To generate shareable trip links.
- To improve the resort matching algorithm.
Third-party services
Corduroy uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
Handles user authentication and account management. Your name, email, and credentials are managed by Clerk.
Stores your saved trip data in a secure, encrypted database hosted on AWS infrastructure.
Sends transactional emails such as trip confirmation emails. Your email address is passed to Resend for delivery only.
When you expand a resort card, your browser fetches live weather data directly from Open-Meteo using the resort's coordinates. No personal data is sent.
Hosts the Corduroy web application. Vercel may collect standard server logs including IP addresses and request metadata.
If you type a location on the preferences page, your search query is sent to Nominatim to convert it to coordinates. No account data is included.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Trip data is only accessible to you (and anyone you share a trip link with).
Data retention
Your account and trip data are retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To make a request, contact us at privacy@corduroy-snow.com.
