How we determine season quality
Season quality scores are calculated from historical snowfall data across 200+ US ski resorts, aggregated by region and month. Each month is rated 0–5 (Closed → Peak) based on average snowfall relative to each resort's peak month.
Shoulder season windows (early November, late April) are filled in using regional norms where snowfall data is sparse. Rockies and Pacific resorts with high-altitude terrain receive extended shoulder seasons reflecting their typical early-open and late-close dates.
Data represents historical averages — actual conditions vary by year, elevation, and resort. Always check live snow reports before booking.
